TOLN at CNPS Conference Jan 10-14

California Native Plant Society (CNPS) to host major conference in San Diego.

CNPS 2012 LogoThe CNPS Conservation Conference to be held January 10-14, 2012 in San Diego, promises to be a great opportunity for botanists, horticulturists, native plant enthusiasts, and the general public to discuss a very important topic:  Conservation of native plants.  This is a major event for CNPS and it is a real privilege for us all, here in sunny southern California, to welcome this state-wide conference into San Diego.  Tree of Life Native Nursery will be there as an exhibitor and we will be donating over 100 plants (custom selected, rare, endangered, unique, scarce in horticulture, of special interest) for the silent auction.  Our own Mike Evans and Gene Ratcliffe will be giving talks on Saturday the 14th (part of the FREE Public Day Program!) on native plant landscaping.

Paid registration to attend the Conference itself is open until January 9, 2012.  CNPS anticipates an attendance of between 650 and 800 people, with over 200 talks scheduled.  There will be workshops, social and art events, and plenty of time for networking with native plant people from all over the state.  The conference is ideal for environmental planners, landscape professionals, naturalists, and educators.  More information and registration is available at the conference website.  www.cnps.org/2012

On Saturday January 14th from 10 am – 3 pm, the public is invited to attend parts of the conference and hours of special talks and lectures for FREE.  The exhibitor hall, scientific posters, and the botanical art and photography exhibits will be open to the public.  Additionally, a slew of 20+ lectures and workshops given by knowledgeable experts have been organized specifically for the public to enjoy.   Check out the incredible line-up of speakers here.  The whole Conference and Public Day will take place at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley and for the free Public Day on January 14th, $5.00 gets you all day parking.

Be sure and stop by our exhibit to say hi.  See you in San Diego!
