City of San Clemente Water Pilot Program: Design Assistance Rebate

If you are thinking about removing your lawn and replacing it with native plants, all Orange County residents are welcome to cash in on reimbursements for lawn replacements at up to $2 per square foot through Municipal Water District of Orange County, (MWDOC). The MWDOC rebate is for new projects removing turf and replacing with water efficient landscaping, apply for your rebate BEFORE removing or killing your lawn. Pilot Program Reimburses City of San Clemente Water Customers $45 for Design Assistance provided by Tree of Life Nursery’s Designers in Residence.
Attention Residents of the City of San Clemente!
This just in: City of San Clemente Water customers can cash in on reimbursements for design consultations at Tree of Life Nursery in addition to the MWDOC square foot rebate program. In order to help their customers save water, the City of San Clemente has partnered with Tree of Life Nursery to create a simple and straightforward pilot program providing their customers assistance as they convert thirsty turf into beautiful native gardens.
Tree of Life Nursery currently works with a small network of independent expert designers. For a nominal fee, our Designers in Residence, (DIR) conduct individual, personalized 25-minute design consultations every Saturday. The City of San Clemente has made money available for its water customers to get reimbursed $30 for these design consultations through this pilot program. Funds are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis, so make your DIR appointment right away!
To get your reimbursement for DIR design services (San Clemente residents):
1) Book and pay for an appointment through our website (or walk-in, in person): CLICK HERE
2) BRING YOUR WATER BILL to your Tree of Life Nursery appointment!
(We must verify City of San Clemente Water Customers with a copy of their water bill, NO EXCEPTIONS)
3) Sign a Waiver provided by Tree of Life Nursery (TOLN) staff just prior to your appointment.
4) Send your signed Waiver, a copy of your water bill, and your receipt from Tree of Life Nursery to the City of San Clemente, (we provide the details while you’re here).
5) The City of San Clemente will send you a reimbursement check for $30!

Talega Ranch Residents: though you live within San Clemente city limits, the Design Assistance Rebate only applies to customers of the City of San Clemente Water District. Your water purveyor happens to be Santa Margarita Water District, making you eligible for the $2 per square foot turf removal rebate (sponsored by MWDOC) but unfortunately, not the Design Assistance Rebate. The City of San Clemente is currently the ONLY water department with this pilot program.
