About Tree of Life Nursery

View of Tree of Life Nursery

For over 30 years, Tree of Life Nursery has concentrated on only one thing: California native plants.  Since our humble beginnings in 1976, we have grown by propagating and producing the finest quality native plants on the market.

We Grow.

At our 40-acre nursery site in San Juan Capistrano, California, we regularly welcome visiting growers, ecologists, architects and planners from around the world, who want a first-hand look at state of the art native plant production.  We grow a sustainable crop in a sustainable fashion.  We are extremely proud of each of our 33 dedicated career nursery and business professionals who comprise the team at Tree of Life.  Over the years, our company, our key individuals, and our owners have received numerous awards from various professional, horticultural, and environmental organizations for outstanding achievements in our field.

Native plant propagation is our intense passion, and this fact has been established through our experience, our contacts, and our professional status with growers and conservation organizations both domestic and abroad.  We are frequently invited to participate as conference speakers and we have authored many academic and technical papers.  Our three decades of research and our horticultural expertise is evidenced in a long bibliography of presentations on native plants, habitat restoration, mycorrhizae, ecology, water conservation, landscape sustainability, and the philosophy of naturalistic garden design.  While we research, put into practice, and share our experience and expertise in a wide range of related subjects, for thirty years we have maintained only one business focus: growing and selling native plants.  Tree of Life is the largest native plant nursery in California.

We Grow.  And how do we help you?
