An annual tradition here at Tree of Life Native Plant Nursery, come celebrate the holiday season with your own handmade wreath fashioned out of California native plant material!  Craftswoman Hilda Evans will instruct two workshops this December and you are welcome to participate in the fun.

Saturday December 14, 2013

Session I: 10:00 am – 12:00pm
Session II: 1:30 pm – 3:30pm

Cost: $35.00 per wreath
*Registration is strongly recommended!!*

You are welcome to pay and register for multiple participants in this workshop. One participant may make up to two wreaths and must pay for each wreath. Limit two wreaths per participant.

hilda wreathWe will provide a wreath base made from California grape, and various native plant material clippings for your use to attach to the wreath base.  Many fragrant native plant clippings gathered from our gardens will be available such as white sage (Salvia apiana), incense cedar (Calocedrus decurrens), coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), San Pedro Martir cypress and Tecate cypress (Cupressus montana & forbesii), California bay (Umbellularia californica), and many other plant seasonal clippings as well.

For this workshop we recommend you bring the following:
– layered clothing – this event is held outdoors or in a greenhouse
– sunscreen/sun protection
– floral wire (like this) or hemp cord (like this) – these items can be found at Michaels’ or Art and Craft Supply stores.
– gloves – the plant material is sticky and sometimes prickly
– clippers – to trim down plant material
– wire cutter if you choose to work with wire, sharp scissors if you’re working with hemp
