Native Screens

Join us as we highlight evergreen, densely growing natives that function well as screens. These low maintenance shrubs require little water once established and many can be shaped into formal hedges. As natives they will provide great habitat for birds and other wildlife in your yard while they effectively block elements of the landscape that are better left behind bushes!

Natives for Slopes
In southern California, it seems, the majority of landscapes have some sort of slope component. There is a great array of suitable low water and low maintenance grasses, shrubs and trees, that when planted out will be both aesthetically pleasing as well as great habitat for many of our native butterflies and birds. Come sit in as owner Mike Evans discusses the options available and how to work them into a beautiful slope landscape.

Native Groundcovers

The low-growing, spreading habit of certain California natives makes them ideal groundcovers for planting in masses on slopes, in the front of mixed border plantings, in parkways or even as a lawn substitute. Join Designer in Residence Rob Moore as he highlights these native groundcovers and their uses in this Sage Advice Talk.
