Native Bees of California
With 20,000 known species worldwide, bees are perhaps the most important pollinators in the world. There is a wide range of diversity in California’s native bee species, from rice-sized sweat bees, all the way up to thumb-sized carpenter bees. Author Bob Allen (BugBob) will discuss local native bees and how to create bee-friendly habitat in your yard.

Saturday March 11
Basic Backyard Birds
Have you ever wondered what LBB (little brown bird) is flitting around in your garden? Or what native plants you could introduce into your garden to encourage more bird life?  If so come join us for an informative talk on Basic Backyard Birding.  Tree of Life’s Alisa Flint will share some helpful tips on identifying some of our local birds by sight and sound as well as which native plant species are irresistible to our feathered friends. Weather permitting we will also take a quick walk around the demonstration garden area to see what we can find.  Binoculars are encouraged.

The Replace Your Lawn Series (RYL) will repeat starting March 18!
