Summer Workshops: July

baja in a potWe are pleased to announce that for the first time, Tree of Life Nursery is offering workshops during July and August!  Since we are closed on Saturdays during the summer months our workshops will be held on Fridays at our usual time of 9:30 AM.

Workshops every Friday through August!

Our summer workshops will be useful and informative for your summer gardening needs.  We will be covering native plants for containers, Baja plants and yet another session of the Replace Your Lawn Workshop Series.  Details are below…

Summer Sessions: Container Gardening with Native Plants

Bring nature close by planting “habitats in miniature” using native plants and some of our beautiful clay pots.  Our retail store ‘Casa La Paz’ manager Patty Roess will give a FREE talk about which native plants will thrive in pots, how to arrange plants and other natural features, watering,  and maintenance techniques. Patty will also provide examples and a demonstration.

Create your Own onsite!

After the talk, participants may select and purchase plants and a pot to assemble their own creation.  Tree of Life Nursery will supply soil, accessories (such as rocks) and assembly assistance at no additional charge.  Come enjoy a great summer activity with a long-lasting product to enjoy as a result.

This workshop will be offered twice in July.
Friday July 10 and 24, 9:30 AM

Summer Sessions: Plant Baja Natives Now!

Owner Mike Evans will talk about some unique and beautiful trees, shrubs, perennials and succulents from Baja California, and how they can be used in your garden.  Baja California plants are particularly good for providing that additional splash of summer color, and agaves and dudleyas provide excellent structure and interest.  Plant selection, planting, care and maintenance of these plants will be discussed, with particular attention to establishing these plants in your garden during the summer.

This workshop will be offered twice in July.
Friday July 17 and 31, 9:30 AM

Stay tuned for more information about the Replace Your Lawn Workshop Series which will be held twice in August.  See our post about it here.
